Fabio Guglietta
Fabio Guglietta was born in 1994 in Rome, Italy. In 2016 he received a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" with a thesis entitled "Perfect Sampling: applications in the Ising Model", supervised by Prof. B. Scoppola. He continued his studies in Theoretical Physics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". In his Master's thesis, entitled "PCA in Statistical Mechanics on GPU computing platforms" and supervised by Prof. B. Scoppola and by Dr. S. Filippone, he studied a lattice gas model: the aim of this work was the development on GPU of an algorithm used to find the ground-state energy.
His research interests focus on Statistical Mechanics of Lattice Systems, Fluid Dynamics, Spin-glasses, Theory and Applications of Markov Chains and Markov Chain Monte Carlo, Optimization and Numerical Simulations in Statistical Mechanics."
Fabio has been selected for the position of ESR9 with joint degree awarding institutions The Cyprus Institute (CyI), the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH) and the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata (UTOV). The project entitled "Multiscale behaviour of dense suspensions on highly parallel computing devices: from theory to applications" is supervised by Assist. Prof. Giannis Koutsou, Prof. Marek Behr and Prof. Mauro Sbragaglia.
